  • Onion movement is steady, pricing softened again this week. Super colossal and colossal onions are somewhat tight.
  • Some weakness can be seen on Jumbo Yellows in WA & ID likely due to the abundance of small onions this season.
  • Red onions are still a bit weaker now, look for some better pricing It may be because Mexico is just starting to cross more onions.

  • Demand for pears continues. NW pear 100s/smaller are extremely tough to find in any grade. Condition is good on all varieties.
  • D'Anjou, Bosc, Seckel, Comice, & various red pears are available. Some shippers are done with Bartletts.
  • Pricing continues to be on the stronger side, on small pears & we are starting to see deals on large Anjou. Many shippers are peaking on 70s & 80s.

  • Mt. Vernon District: White potatoes are finished - only a handful remain. Red and Yellows are in good supply. 
  • Yellow and Red Fingerlings are available in Mt Vernon. Quality and color is excellent. California has all colors now.  
  • Eastern Washington colored potatoes-Reds and Yellows are available. Prices are more attractive but the potatoes may not be. Supply is fair.

  • Demand remains steady, prices remaining fairly steady with an underlying strength - dependent on what state they are in and the size profile- not to mention truck availability. 
  • There continues to be a variance in pricing mostly due to supply and demand on given supplies. 
  • But continue to be on alert for an upward swing in the near future. 
  • Growers are beginning to hold back supplies to make in to spring and  are looking to push prices into the upper teens if not the twenties. 
  • Cartons in WA/OR have gone up a bit while Idaho remains steady to slightly lower. Bale prices & steady.
  • Burbanks are demanding a bit higher FOB especially on larger sizes. The opposite is true for Norkotahs. Organic Russets are available.
  • Transportation is an on going challenge.

  • Strawberries- Cooler weather in California and Mexico has slowed production and will be in effect for the next couple of weeks.
  • Florida is having good weather and production is on the up side. Quality is good in all areas.
  • Raspberries- Mixed reports on volume, some advising good and others fair to prorates.
  • Volume will decrease in the next couple of weeks due to variety changes.
  • Blackberries- Same as Raspberries, mixed reports. Volume from Mexico is light due to last weeks rain.
  • California production light but should increase in the next couple of weeks.
  • Blueberries- Fair supplies from California and Central Mexico, Chile still doing normal arrivals. Cool weather in Central Mexico.

    • Both bunched and crowns remain in good supplies.

  • Mexico supplies are still looking good with crop peaking 48/60/70/40.  However they are looking to increase cost in the field by slowing harvest. 
  • 36's and larger fruit still remain tight which will continue until May.   Market remains steady to slightly stronger with brisk business. 
  • Maturity is nice with even ripening.
  • California Hass is still light volume with mostly 60/48's but improving over the next three weeks. 
  • The crop volume is looking fairly good for summer demand at this time. 
  • Sizing profile at this time is 48's and smaller.  Like Mexico large fruit is scarce and will stay this way for the foreseeable future.
  • Peru is expected to start arriving to the US in late May and go through the summer. We will keep you posted as to sizing profiles.

  • We continue the scramble for small fruit-- 165's and smaller.

  • With Lent starting next week; demand and ads are expected to increase and with it the markets.

  • Navels picking going good. Supplies remain very tight on 113/138's.... look for deals to be had on extra large fruit 40/36's.

  • Going forward in February pack outs continue clean and heavy to fancy. 

  • Sizing is peaking 72/56/88 and as such the small fruit market continues increasing.   Color is nice and the fruit is eating well. 

  • Market is sporadic with prices increasing on smaller sizes. 113/138 sizes regardless of grade and demand is very strong.

  • Cara Cara are peaking 88/72's limited on small fruit.  Color is looking nice.  Pack outs are clean and heavy to fancy fruit. 

  • Available in half & full cartons as well as bags (to order). Bloods are in the same boat on sizes.

  • Fruit this year is big; peaking on 88-40's if you can believe it. 113's and smaller are non-existent.  Color is looking very nice.

  • Market is strong and can be packed to order in full cartons.   Looking to have supplies of this item into March

  • TX Ruby Grapefruit available in light numbers with excellent color. Sizing this year is peaking 40's with lite supplies of 56's.
  • Market expected to staying up. 
  • Starting to see some Rio's out of Yuma new with light supplies expected through Feb before there crop gets stronger the closer to March.
  • Gold Nuggets have started and we should have supplies of this easy peel seedless Mandarin until May.  Come and get them.  
  • Murcott Mandarins are peaking on jumbo/large sizes. Color is nice. Fruit can be packed up for you in 25# bulk/bags and 4x5#. 
  • Shippers are into the Murcott supplies.  Let us know your pack preference and we will get you set up. 
  • Minneolas are starting light out of Central Calif.   Market expected to stay strong. 
  • Sizing has been peaking 64/80/100's yet looking to move big ones now.

  • We have good supplies and various packs of Arils (Pomegranate seeds).  We can offer a variety of pack sizes packed to order.
  • Improved supplies of Imported Peach/Red Plum.  Nectarines remain in lighter supply.  We are also starting to see Chilean Bartlett Pears. 
  • All this fruit is available in full pallet quantities out of LA area & consolidated with notice.
