  • Movement is steady on the larger sizes, but there is more demand for the smaller ones. There are still various deals on Bosc & Red pears.
  • Many shippers hope to be done with the Bosc & Red Anjou by June.

Subject    5/25/2017 - - Potatoes
Body
  • Large potatoes continue to increase in price as demand stays strong. Supplies of large cartons are very tight in the NW crop.
  • Idaho shippers saying demand exceeds supply on the big sizes.  Bale supplies are plentiful-for now.  Prices are steady on good volume.
  • There have been more inquiries from the East coast including Canada on strippers for repacking.

  • Projections are that most fields won't begin harvest this season until the 1st week of August or later.
